I Don't Know What to Think About This

So, what do you think Obama should do?

Update: Does this change how you feel?

He should put forward a public financing bill too far left for McCain to support (I bet McCain wouldn't back Durbin's scheme from what I've heard of it) and then say "McCain can't inspire the sort of everyday contributor I've inspired/my cutting a corner here will lead to a President who will make the Durbin Act a first 100 days priority."

Watching MSNBC right now I had an idea. He should make some minor mistake that the media will love (like the Deval Patrick thing) and announce his decision to skip public funding in the middle of that hoopla. It'll make for a bad couple of days, but that will end as soon as something else remotely interesting happens. As far as the message goes, I agree with Joaquin. I'm really having a hard time seeing how this would hurt Obama. It's a process issue, so it only comes up if McCain or the press harp on it (because the voters don't give a crap). Even if someone brings it up, it doesn't stick unless they craft it as a character attack, saying that Obama doesn't really represent change, he's just more of the same dressed up like change. I'd love to see McCain try to sell that one.

He should laugh and say "Bitches I'm rollin' in dough why would I give that up?"

Because no one will give a fuck whether he takes it or not.

Now he can totally just say: "Look at how much trouble McCain is getting in with the public financing stuff; it obviously is a flawed system that should be scrapped in favor of a new one, and I don't want to legitimize the current system." Haha.

As a side note, wouldn't it be hilarious if McCain was locked in to only spending another 7 million from now to September, and Obama raises and can spend maybe $50 mil or more.

Hahaha, and whats even more hilarious is that McCain would be the candidate who is demonstrably backed by special interests.

$50 mil? Shit, Obama's on pace to raise that this month.
